Becoming a PADI Divemaster is a dream for many divers. Being a professional diver and making a living from your passion is the ideal lifestyle for many people around the world. We have developed a 1-2 month Divemaster internship in Bali - Nusa Penida in order to prepare you for the professional world of diving.

Completing the PADI Divemaster training is easy, but becoming a good Divemaster with all the qualities that dive centers around the world want to employ is quite another thing. This is our goal, to train you not only to pass the Divemaster exam or to tick the boxes of the requirements, but to really develop all of the qualifications required to excel as a professional scuba diver. Becoming a Divemaster is not only about safely guiding divers on vacation; the job of a Divemaster requires much more than that! The Divemaster is essential to ensure the success of diving trips and provide divers with a good experience. It is thanks to the Divemaster’s knowledge, logistical support, presence and above all customer service, that a safe, unique and memorable dive trip will happen.

Moreover, we have always trained our PADI Divemaster candidates as if they might later become a dive instructor. The Divemaster course can range from very intense to really relaxed. It all depends on how long you spend completing your training. While, according to PADI, you can complete your course in two weeks, at Bali Aqua, we believe the minimum time frame is four weeks. Ideally, however, we recommend at least two months in Nusa Penida… and the longer you spend in training, the more diving experience and confidence you will gain to start your professional diving career.

During your PADI Divemaster course in Nusa Penida, you will develop a very different relationship with your instructor than that of your prior dive courses. Your instructor will function as your guide, trainer, and even advisor for your future career in scuba diving. It is very common to develop a bond with your mentor that lasts for years after you complete your Divemaster certification.

The PADI  Divemaster Course Consists of Four Sections:

1. Divemaster Theory and Knowledge Development.
2. Divemaster - Level Water Skills
3. Divemaster - Practical Skill Application.
4. Divemaster - Programs Workshops.

 The course begins with a general orientation to cover how the training will be structured. After orientation, the course will be customized based on you and the current environment and schedule.

Divemaster theory is divided into nine topics. You will likely complete these online with PADI's eLearning program. Once you have registered for your course, we will send you the eLearning link so you can get started before you even arrive in Nusa Penida!

You also have the option to complete your knowledge development through independent study of the Divemaster Manual, with PADI videos, and the Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving. Of course, your instructor will help you along the way to ensure you are mastering all information shared and will complement the manual with local information and examples from his or her experience. Upon completion you will take two Divemaster exams.
